Today, I am undergoing aggressive treatment for throat cancer. Maybe the secret was meditating on the beach, continuing to paint and making donuts! In 2020 I was diagnosed with brain cancer and doctors told me I had six months to live, but was later told that the tumor had subsided and was no longer life-threatening. Over the past 50 plus years I have been painting album covers and celebrity self-portraits, initially getting my start in the music industry as Art Director at Paramount Records and managing Billy Joel’s original project that led to his big break. I currently reside on Maui where I paint until dawn and spend my mornings on the beach with my loved ones, usually my two dogs.
